Saturday 12th May ‘Inner World Outer World’ – a day of yoga, walking, meditation and creativity, as part of Somerset’s Naturally Healthy Month, connecting people and nature. Playing with mindfulness and meditation as creative activity, within our inner space and out in the landscape.

Halsway Wellbeing Week 2018  29th October – 2nd November

Come and join me for a nourishing week of yoga, meditation and singing at Halsway Manor, a beautiful house and gardens in rural Somerset. We’ll also walk and play creatively in the autumnal landscape of the Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Wellbeing is all about learning to pay more attention to our mind and body and the world around us. Each day we’ll explore our inner and outer worlds, playing with the natural rhythms of silence and sound, movement and stillness.

Autumn at Halsway is a time of mists and mellow fruitfulness, as we gather in our energies ready for the dark nights. Relax in the bar by an open fire, wander in the grounds, enjoy some solitude and make new friends. And as we’re at Halsway, the national centre for folk art, there’ll be a bit of traditional music and dancing to join in with too!

All the details and how to book are on the Halsway website, or contact me for more information.

As autumn fades into winter it’s the perfect time to conjure up ideas for the coming year. Watch this space for news of more wellbeing days and also the dates for the Halsway Wellbeing Week 2018 – coming soon!

In the meantime, here are a few memories of our breezy walk on Minehead beach as part of a very relaxing Rest & Renew yoga day.

A few photos from the autumn Wellbeing Day – ‘Breathing Space’. After a morning exploring the breath and movement and some pranayama practices, we braved weather warnings of gale force winds and heavy rain to go up on the hill, and even found a spot of sunshine. Lots of breathing space!

‘Rest & Renew’ on the 18th November is an invitation to prepare body and mind for winter, with energising asana and deeply relaxing yoga nidra. In the afternoon we’ll go down to the beach for an invigorating walk. Email me for more information or to book.

In August I ran the very first Halsway Wellbeing Week – with sixteen enthusiastic participants enjoying a creative mix of yoga practice and walking in the stunningly beautiful landscape of West Somerset.

We were joined by artists and experts who helped us explore the area and see through their eyes, taking in the awe and wonder of the natural world. The yoga practices echoed this theme of journeying, from orienting and grounding ourselves, to finding our way through movement sequences and learning to let go to the flow. And because we were in the National Centre for Folk Arts, there was a bit of dancing thrown into the mix.

Next year’s retreat is being planned already, so watch here for details coming soon.
